Bruce began his formal acting training at age 11 at Houston's renown Alley Theatre's children's three year program. He also spent some time at Houston's Theatre Under the Stars children's acting school. Later Bruce trained with Chris Wilson's Actor's Studio and more recently with Los Angeles acting coach Joseph Pearlman. The New York Times said that Bruce King, "...goes to the heart of good acting." for his originated lead role in the Off-Broadway show "Man Enough".
