Jonathan Ripley was born in Leeds in the United Kingdom as Jonathan Holroyd to English and Irish parents, playing rugby and soccer at school, as well as track and field. After obtaining a Ph.D. in Earth Science at The University of Manchester, Jonathan worked globally in oil/gas before making Houston, Texas, home for over a decade now.
